About the Role

The Capital Markets Accounting Advisory Services team (CMAAS) supports clients through significant changes like acquisitions, divestitures, accounting changes, restructuring, capital transactions (e.g., IPOs), and digital transformation. This role offers the opportunity to advise clients on complex financial reporting issues and transactions, working with senior management, bankers, lawyers, and other advisors.

Responsibilities

Support clients through capital market transactions including IPO readiness, BAR Reports, capital raising, and pro forma financial statements.
Assist clients with accounting change projects such as GAAP conversions, accounting policy implementations, and new accounting standards.
Collaborate with Deals colleagues on accounting implications of acquisitions and divestitures, including due diligence, valuations, business combinations, and consolidation accounting.
Prepare complex accounting calculations, quarterly/annual financial statements, and management reporting.
Research technical accounting matters and apply knowledge to client-specific scenarios.
Prepare accounting whitepapers and diagnostic reports for clients to document positions for auditors and regulators.
Collaborate with the team to respond to ad hoc client requests, taking ownership of assigned jobs and clients.
Focus on project details and quality.
Build and maintain collaborative relationships with colleagues and clients, demonstrating the firm’s Code of Ethics and Business Conduct.
Leverage analytical tools, techniques, and GenAI solutions to identify insights, drive value, support project delivery, and foster client relationships.

Requirements

Proven technical expertise in technical accounting, corporate finance, advisory, or audit roles.
Exposure to capital markets transactions, acquisitions/divestitures, and IPO readiness.
Strong understanding of accounting standards, regulatory frameworks (IFRS, US GAAP and ASPE), and market practices for IPOs, capital raisings, and other transactions.
Ability to interpret complex financial and business issues, assess risks, and deliver pragmatic recommendations.
Skilled at articulating complex technical concepts clearly and persuasively to diverse audiences, including senior leadership.
Demonstrated ability to lead teams, mentor colleagues, and foster a collaborative, client-focused culture.
A coachable, open-minded person dedicated to self-improvement, developing new skills, and career development.
Commitment to building trusted, long-term client relationships and delivering exceptional value.
