About the Role
At CDOMS, you'll become an integral part of a dedicated surgical team providing advanced oral and maxillofacial care in a high-performing specialty environment. This role offers the opportunity to strengthen your surgical skills, work alongside highly experienced Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons, and build a long-term career in specialty dentistry.
Responsibilities
- Prepare surgical operatories, instruments, equipment, and patient charts for procedures
- Provide chairside assistance during oral surgery procedures, including wisdom teeth and surgical extractions, implant placement, bone grafting, and IV sedation
- Support surgeons and anesthesia teams throughout procedures
- Monitor patient comfort and assist with vitals and recovery protocols within your training and scope
- Sterilize instruments and maintain strict surgical infection-control standards
- Capture digital imaging and support accurate clinical documentation
- Educate patients and caregivers on pre- and post-operative instructions
- Maintain surgical supplies, implant materials, and treatment-room inventory
- Collaborate closely with surgeons, nurses, assistants, and administrative team members to keep surgical days running efficiently
Requirements
- Previous dental/oral surgery assisting experience required
- Experience with wisdom teeth, surgical extractions, implants, and/or sedation strongly preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Current CPR/BLS certification
- Strong understanding of sterilization and infection-control protocols
- Calm, confident, and compassionate approach to surgical patient care
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Dependable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working as part of a highly coordinated surgical team
- Employment is contingent upon successful completion of applicable background, reference, and employment verification requirements
