About the Role
Habitat for Humanity Greater San Francisco is seeking a Senior Volunteer Services Coordinator to ensure volunteers continue to provide essential roles in building and rehabilitating homes, making critical repairs, and supporting the organization's mission. This role involves coordinating recruitment, scheduling, tracking, and recognition of key volunteer groups, serving as a community ambassador, and providing guidance to office volunteers.
Responsibilities
- Manage volunteer engagement platform to collect and analyze data for recruitment, retention, and recognition strategies.
- Coordinate administrative tasks including report production, hour tracking, communication, waiver collection, and email distribution.
- Improve and streamline current systems and programs for efficiency.
- Develop outreach plans with specific strategies and timelines to recruit and engage volunteers.
- Create and update marketing collateral such as flyers, e-newsletters, and volunteer webpages.
- Identify and attend volunteer recruitment outreach opportunities.
- Create and edit volunteer outreach emails and postings.
- Conduct online informational sessions regarding the volunteer program.
- Provide outreach support to recruit prospective recipients of Habitat playhouses.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for volunteer inquiries, updates, and issues.
- Ensure clear and timely communication with volunteers regarding scheduling and commitments.
- Deliver trainings and orientations to prepare new volunteers.
- Oversee the volunteer experience onsite to ensure quality and satisfaction.
- Assist in the development, evaluation, and management of volunteer engagement programs.
- Plan and execute annual volunteer recognition efforts.
- Attend groundbreakings and dedication events.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- 2-4 years of experience coordinating volunteer programs, community engagement, customer service, or nonprofit programs.
- Associate's degree required; bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience recruiting, scheduling, coordinating, and supporting volunteers or community groups.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs.
- Excellent customer service, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
- Excellent written, oral communication, and public speaking skills.
- Excellent organizational and prioritization skills; ability to manage an unpredictable workflow.
- Ability to work a Tuesday-Saturday schedule, with occasional nights and weekends.
- Must be able to travel within HGSF’s tri-county service area (SF, Marin, San Mateo).
- Must be able to pass a background check.
