About the Role
The Sustainable1 Commercial team is expanding client relationships in the climate and sustainability space, aiming to drive revenue growth and help clients enhance their sustainability initiatives. This role focuses on account management for key accounts in Continental Europe, involving both renewal and new business sales.
Responsibilities
- Drive revenue retention and growth through strategic account management of key sustainability clients in assigned portfolio
- Develop and execute comprehensive account plans aligned with client strategic priorities and S&P Global's sustainability product suite
- Identify and pursue cross-sell and upsell opportunities
- Build and maintain relationships with new personas within client organizations to expand engagement and deepen partnerships, in close collaboration with new business sales specialists
- Serve as trusted advisor by presenting insights and recommendations to enhance clients' sustainability initiatives and optimize current product usage
- Represent S1 at sustainability industry events including webinars, roundtables, and conferences while serving as commercial liaison to other teams
Requirements
- 2+ years of relevant experience in ESG and sustainability solutions, customer support, sales or relationship management in B2B environments
- Proven track record of either achieving revenue targets or managing complex client relationships and/or delivery projects
- Strong understanding of sustainability frameworks and ESG principles (e.g., EBA requirements, CSRD, SFDR, CSDDD, ISSB) with the ability to translate technical concepts into clear business value propositions
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, including experience leading client meetings, product demos, and strategic planning sessions
- Strong working knowledge of CRM systems and prospecting databases (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot, ZoomInfo, Salesloft, or similar), including the ability to maintain accurate client records and manage pipeline activity
- Familiarity with AI agents is preferred
- Willingness to travel across Europe for client meetings and to represent the company at relevant industry events
- Knowledge of client workflows in the banking and insurance industries
- Professional certifications in sustainability or ESG (CFA ESG, UNEP FI) or relevant industry credentials that enhance credibility as a trusted advisor
- Fluency in English
- German language proficiency is preferred
- Russian language proficiency is preferred
- Polish language proficiency is preferred
