About the Role
This on-site contract position offers an exciting opportunity to deliver high-quality women's health services in a dynamic clinical environment. As a Locum NP/CNM in our Ob/Gyn practice, you will provide comprehensive care to women across all stages of life, from prenatal and obstetric care to gynecological examinations and preventive screenings. You will work within the medical practice industry, collaborating closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes. This associate-level role is ideal for clinicians seeking flexibility and rewarding work in a busy healthcare setting.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive obstetric care, including prenatal assessments, labor support, and delivery management
- Perform routine gynecological examinations, Pap smears, and clinical breast exams
- Diagnose and treat a wide range of women's health conditions, including infections, hormonal imbalances, and reproductive health issues
- Conduct postpartum evaluations and provide guidance on newborn care and maternal recovery
- Offer family planning services, contraceptive counseling, and preconception care
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including ultrasounds, labs, and imaging studies
- Collaborate with obstetricians, gynecologists, and other specialists to develop and implement patient care plans
- Educate patients on preventive health measures, nutrition, and lifestyle modifications
- Document all patient encounters accurately and promptly in electronic health records (EHR)
- Respond to obstetric and gynecological emergencies, ensuring timely and appropriate intervention
Requirements
- Current Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) licensure in New York State
- Graduate degree in Nursing or Nurse Midwifery from an accredited program
- NCC certification in Nurse-Midwifery or Women's Health (CNM or WHNP)
- Prior clinical experience in obstetric and gynecologic care settings
- Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and decision-making skills
- Knowledge of evidence-based practice guidelines in women's health and obstetrics
- Excellent interpersonal and patient communication skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, on-site clinical environment
- Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) and NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certifications
- Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and on-call coverage as required
- Board-certification required
