About the Role

The Enterprise Payments Business Development Associate will build Monex Canada's enterprise payments pipeline by identifying companies with complex cross-border payment, FX, treasury, and integration needs. This role combines outbound business development with exposure to enterprise payment strategy, client discovery, and consultative solution selling, engaging with finance leaders to identify and solve payment friction, cross-border challenges, reconciliation issues, and FX exposures.

Responsibilities

  • Research and identify target organizations with recurring cross-border payment, multi-currency, treasury, or FX requirements.
  • Build prospect lists using market intelligence, CRM tools, referrals, networking, and other channels.
  • Conduct outbound outreach through phone, email, LinkedIn, events, referrals, and partner introductions.
  • Develop tailored messaging that connects Monex's payment, FX, and treasury capabilities to prospect needs.
  • Schedule qualified discovery meetings for senior sales and enterprise payments specialists.
  • Develop relationships with CFOs, Controllers, Treasury, Finance, Operations, and Payments leaders.
  • Participate in client discovery conversations and develop an understanding of enterprise payment workflows.
  • Identify client challenges across cross-border payments, multi-currency collections, supplier payments, treasury operations, FX risk management, payment automation, API and file-based integrations, and reconciliation workflows.
  • Support proposal development, presentations, and commercial discussions.
  • Work with senior sales and solution specialists to develop appropriate client solutions.
  • Represent Monex at industry events, conferences, networking functions, and client meetings.
  • Maintain knowledge of developments across payments, fintech, FX, treasury, and banking.
  • Develop a strong understanding of Monex's products, technology, and value proposition.
  • Share market intelligence and client feedback with internal teams.
  • Maintain accurate CRM records and activity tracking.
  • Manage prospecting cadences and follow-up activities.
  • Track opportunities from initial contact through qualification.
  • Maintain accurate pipeline information and provide regular activity and opportunity reporting to management.

Requirements

  • 1–4 years of experience in business development, sales, financial services, payments, fintech, banking, SaaS, or a related industry.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Comfortable initiating conversations with senior business leaders.
  • Highly motivated and commercially driven, with a strong interest in new business development.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating across teams.
  • Experience using CRM and sales engagement platforms.
  • Financially and commercially curious, with an interest in global markets.
  • Experience in payments, foreign exchange, treasury, fintech, banking, or financial technology.
  • Knowledge of international payments or financial services.
  • Previous success in outbound sales or business development.
  • Additional language skills are an asset.
