About the Role
This position provides safety, security, and guest services in public and non-public areas of the Wellin Museum. It offers a flexible, part-time, on-call schedule with limited work hours per year, providing a unique way to engage with the college community.
Responsibilities
- Provide security and protection for museum property, exhibits, classrooms, and assets.
- Conduct hourly rounds to ensure visitor and property safety, checking exhibitions, art storage, mechanical rooms, stairwells, and fire safety equipment.
- Document issues in a logbook and report concerns to the supervisor.
- Manage building security, including doors, opening/closing procedures, and building rounds.
- Perform identification checks and clearance for museum guests.
- Ensure the safety of all individuals on museum property.
- Maintain records of the physical condition of museum property related to safety and security.
- Respond to emergency calls and perform CPR or First Aid when necessary.
- Act as an Evacuation Monitor during emergencies.
- Escort approved visitors through non-public areas and monitor individuals working in art storage.
- Inspect parcels.
- Maintain a daily log and draft incident reports.
- Perform other assigned duties.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must possess or be able to obtain CPR and First Aid certification.
- Must possess or be able to obtain and maintain a New York State Security Guard License.
