About the Role
This role bridges the gap between business strategy and technical execution by designing and deploying infrastructure that meets business solution requirements while adhering to Zebra IT standards, with an emphasis on cloud enablement and zero-trust security. You will generate scalable and secure architecture across global IT ecosystems, establish standard blueprints for application-focused infrastructure design, and guide engineering teams in bringing complex digital platforms to life. You will also drive the alignment of existing application infrastructure with compute and OS lifecycle processes and facilitate the streamlining of these processes.
Responsibilities
- Partners with IT Solution Architects to validate server and storage infrastructure designs align with technical vision, security, and capacity requirements.
- Collaborates on evaluating end-to-end solution cost and assessing infrastructure risks for new deployments.
- Ensures seamless integration with existing Infrastructure.
- Actively manages preliminary server intake requests and assists with the operational execution of SIP processes.
- Generate quarterly SLO reports for SIP requests to verify operational targets are met.
- Perform monthly/quarterly End of Life (EOL) and SIP reporting.
- Lead architectural and SIP meetings when the designated SIP manager or coordinators are out of the office.
- Leverage AI and automation to reduce manual efforts for SIP and EOL processes and documentation.
- Coordinate with business units on the decommissioning of aging IT supported systems.
Requirements
- Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience.
- 2+ years of related experience.
- Excel analysis and data management (e.g., pivot tables, lookup functions).
- Visio diagram creation and shape manipulation.
- Cross-platform expertise in Linux and Windows (virtual and physical) server infrastructure design and system requirements.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., GCP, AWS, Azure) and serverless containers (e.g., GKE, Cloud Run, EKS, AKS).
- General understanding of network topologies, routing, and communication protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, load balancing) in relation to server connectivity and application hosting.
- Solid foundation in Enterprise security architecture.
- Experience using AI for workflow automation.
