About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Full-Stack Engineer to contribute to Jade, Chime's AI-powered financial assistant. This role involves designing AI capabilities, conversation experiences, and building essential systems for reliability and safety. You will develop member-facing features for financial management and internal tools for AI operations. The position requires continuous learning and adaptation in a rapidly evolving AI landscape.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and scale new capabilities for Jade, Chime's AI-powered financial assistant
- Develop agent architectures, prompt strategies, and orchestration patterns that shape how Jade reasons and acts
- Build eval frameworks, observability, and guardrail systems that let the team ship with speed and confidence
- Partner cross-functionally to solve member pain points and deliver secure, scalable solutions
- Improve system reliability through performance tuning and architectural enhancements
- Contribute to technical design and maintain high standards across the codebase through code reviews and mentorship
- Bring curiosity and initiative to explore how things work and how they can work better
Requirements
- 5+ years of backend software development experience in production environments
- Proficiency with AI tooling and AI native development
- Proficiency with Python or comparable frameworks
- Experience with transactional databases (e.g., Postgres) and caching systems (e.g., Redis)
- Familiarity with architectural patterns in high-scale systems
- A strong focus on writing maintainable, well-tested code
- A drive to learn and dive deep into technical systems
- Bonus: Experience with agent development, fintech, or startup environments
