A family in Scarsdale, NY, seeks a full-time Housekeeper / Mother’s Helper to support their home and family with two young children. Responsibilities

  • Perform daily housekeeping and household upkeep, including dishes, kitchen resets, making beds, light vacuuming/sweeping, spot cleaning, and tidying bathrooms and living areas.
  • Manage family laundry from washing and drying to folding, ironing, and organizing closets and drawers.
  • Maintain organization in the kitchen, pantry, refrigerator, mudroom, children’s rooms, play areas, and closets.
  • Prepare simple family dinners and children's meals, including breakfasts, lunches, and snacks.
  • Handle grocery shopping and proactively maintain stocked groceries and household supplies.
  • Receive and put away deliveries, manage household packages, and process routine returns.
  • Run local errands such as grocery pickups, dry cleaning, pharmacy trips, and post office/shipping needs.
  • Manage garbage, recycling, and cardboard disposal.
  • Provide daily care for the family's dog, including feeding.
  • Identify and address routine household needs proactively.
  • Assist with morning childcare, including preparing and serving breakfast, packing preschool lunches, and getting belongings ready.
  • Occasionally drive the toddler to preschool.
  • Independently care for the 6-month-old son, including feeding, playing, changing, and nap routines.
  • Assist with transitions around children's meals and naps.

Requirements

  • Prior experience in a similar private-household role.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
  • Strong and confident driver.
  • Reliable transportation for commuting to work.
  • Comfortable with a potential future move elsewhere within lower Westchester.
  • Pet-friendly.
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S.

  • Experience and confidence with babies and toddlers.
