About the Role
The CAD Designer is a key member of the Alleguard technical/engineering team, responsible for creating detailed technical drawings and plans based on customer and internal specifications. This role plays a crucial part in the sales and manufacturing processes.
Responsibilities
- Creating detailed CAD drawings as per instructions and specifications from customers, sales representatives, manufacturing personnel, and engineers.
- Revising and updating existing drawings to reflect design changes.
- Providing manufacturing equipment codes based on CAD drawings and equipment software (Shop Cam, G coding) to Alleguard manufacturing facilities.
- Providing design takeoffs for Alleguard products, including roofing and geotechnical fill materials, using engineering software.
- Creating and altering construction sketches.
- Following project schedules and deadlines.
- Maintaining organized work files and project documentation.
Requirements
- Proven work experience as a CAD Designer.
- Proficient knowledge of CAD software and other drafting tools.
- Excellent technical design skills.
- Good understanding of manufacturing processes and construction methods.
- Ability to draw manually is favorable, but not essential.
- Strong communication and project management skills.
- Computer literacy is a must.
- Strong relationship building skills; must be able to forge positive and productive relationships with internal stakeholders and customers.
- Flexible and adaptable; willing to assist with or take on assignments outside of defined role when required.
