About the Role
Anthropic is seeking product engineers to develop internal products, working at the intersection of engineering, product, and design. You will own outcomes, collaborate directly with users to understand their needs, and build abstractions to enhance capabilities.
Responsibilities
- Rapidly design, prototype, and ship full-stack features across backend, frontend, and infrastructure.
- Consult with users and stakeholders to understand workflows and identify high-impact opportunities.
- Identify patterns in user requests and develop primitives, platforms, or middleware to support various use cases.
- Build tools that maximize autonomy and creative freedom for less-technical users.
- Make product and prioritization decisions.
- Iterate quickly based on feedback to improve user experience.
- Acquire new tools, frameworks, and domains as the product evolves.
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience building production software, ideally full-stack.
- Ability to operate independently from idea to shipped product.
- Systems and abstraction thinking.
- Commitment to empowering users.
- Ownership of outcomes, not just code.
- Comfort making decisions with incomplete information and operating with ambiguity.
- High self-imposed standards.
- Experience building platforms, primitives, or internal tools.
- A track record of shipping products independently.
