About the Role

Fairmont Austin, a luxury property with 1,048 guestrooms and over 140,000 square feet of meeting space, is seeking a passionate individual to join its innovative culinary team. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to a dynamic environment in a fast-growing market.

Responsibilities

Understand and demonstrate commitment to 'Our Culinary Culture'.
Act as a leader and supervisor, delegating and prioritizing duties to ensure high productivity.
Supervise colleagues to ensure the highest level of production and efficient service execution.
Foster a positive and proactive approach to motivate the team and ensure efficient operations.
Maintain full knowledge of all menu items, daily features, and promotions.
Ensure food is prepared according to specified recipes and standards, including quality checks.
Communicate and enforce EHC and Servsafe standards, ensuring accurate completion of temperature logs.
Maintain proper product rotation to minimize waste and spoilage.
Ensure cleanliness and maintenance of work areas, utensils, and equipment.
Operate the assigned station and prepare colleagues for success on days off.
Share ideas, opinions, and suggestions during daily shift briefings.
Liaise with chefs to maintain open communication regarding guest feedback.
Continuously strive to improve food preparation and presentations.
Ensure kitchen follows set recycling, compost, and landfill procedures.
Follow all kitchen policies, procedures, and service standards.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Constant standing and walking throughout shift.
