About the Role
As a Cloud Solutions Architect, you will architect for tens of thousands of users on AWS, design caching, multi-region and federation strategies, and ensure the architecture meets security and access-control needs. You will bring a strong, consulting and solution-focused mindset to contribute to architectural decisions, best practices, and execution.
Responsibilities
- Architect the platform for enterprise scale on AWS.
- Evaluate scalability of the Postgres/Supabase backend and design caching tiers, multi-region, and global federation.
- Own the load-testing strategy and responsiveness targets across geographies.
- Ensure the architecture meets security and access-control needs for sensitive content.
- Produce architecture diagrams, decision records, and technical standards.
- Guide and mentor engineers on cloud best practices and patterns.
- Define non-functional requirements including availability, resilience, cost, and observability.
- Partner with security and compliance to meet enterprise controls.
- Support build-vs-buy decisions and technology evaluations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- 8+ years in engineering, with 3+ years in architecture.
- Senior cloud architecture experience on AWS.
- Experience designing high-scale, low-latency, multi-region distributed systems.
- Experience with caching strategies, data federation, and performance/load testing.
- Experience with security architecture, including role- and attribute-based access control (RBAC/ABAC).
- Experience with Infrastructure-as-code (Terraform/CloudFormation) and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes).
- Strong grasp of networking, IAM, cost optimization, and observability tooling.
- Ability to work within an established enterprise engineering lifecycle.
- Excellent stakeholder communication and technical leadership skills.
- Prior experience in consulting.
- Prior experience and connections in the Life Sciences industry is preferred.
