About the Role

Welch LLP is seeking a Cloud Bookkeeper to join their growing bookkeeping business, Elevate. This role offers a flexible environment with a culture of learning and mentorship, supported by accounting and tax professionals within Welch LLP.

Responsibilities

  • Manage bookkeeping for multiple companies using accounting software, including reconciling accounts receivable and payables, generating payroll, and filing returns.
  • Manage client needs through email, phone, and video conferencing.
  • Follow up with external vendors to maintain accurate client books.
  • Provide ad-hoc information and problem-solve for clients.
  • Delegate work to junior staff and answer their questions.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly reports (payroll, GST, HST, WSIB, EHT, etc.).
  • Communicate efficiently with management.
  • Identify new business opportunities with existing clients.
  • Maintain clear documentation for partner/manager or external review.
  • Run payroll for multiple clients according to their schedules.
  • Manage a client portfolio for all accounting and bookkeeping needs.

Requirements

  • College Diploma in Business Accounting.
  • 2+ years of experience in full cycle bookkeeping and payroll is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of cloud accounting software (e.g., Dext, Plooto, QuickBooks Online) is an asset.
  • General knowledge of bookkeeping deadlines.
  • Ability to stay organized and work in a fast-paced environment with multiple assignments, deadlines, and priorities, with a high degree of autonomy.
  • Knowledge of payroll processing on any platform is an asset.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft suite is an asset.
  • Initiative, willingness, and ability to accept responsibility.
  • Learning mindset; willingness and ability to quickly learn new clients and industries.
  • Ability to work under pressure, decisiveness, creativeness, good judgment, and common sense.
  • Ability to develop and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Experience in different industries would be an asset.
  • Strong team player with the ability to collaborate and assist the team when required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in French would be an asset.
