About the Role
The Home Depot is seeking individuals who are passionate about helping others succeed, making an impact, and guiding customers to the right solutions. This role involves stocking merchandise, organizing the sales floor, providing customer service, and potentially operating machinery like reach trucks and forklifts.
Responsibilities
- Stock merchandise onto shelves to achieve 100% in stock.
- Pack-out and pack-down merchandise as directed.
- Merchandise new items and promotions.
- Maintain aisle cleanliness and shoppability for accessibility and visual appeal.
- Maintain and organize overheads.
- Communicate with other freight team members to ensure proper stocking.
- Follow Home Depot’s Get Model of Customer Service (Greeting, Engaging, Thanking).
- Ask open-ended questions to determine customer needs and expertise.
- Move freight safely using appropriate equipment.
- Ensure aisles are clear and safe for customers.
- Follow all Safety and Loss Prevention Policies and Procedures.
- Pick orders when assigned, pack them carefully, and label them accurately.
- Place orders into specified holding areas.
Requirements
- Ability to bend, stoop, reach, twist, lift, push, pull, and move items.
- Ability to climb ladders up to 12-16 feet to obtain or stock merchandise.
- Flexible schedule including overnight shifts, evenings, and weekends.
- Ability to work in a warehouse environment that can be dusty and noisy.
- Ability to work with drafts and interior temperature changes due to open doors.
- Ability to work with gas fumes from forklifts.
