About the Role
Matrix Mechanical is seeking a Journeyman/Red Seal Mobile Equipment Mechanic (or 2nd/3rd/4th-year apprentice) with a minimum of 3 years strong hands-on experience maintaining and troubleshooting heavy mobile and underground production equipment. This position is located in Nunavut with charter travel from Montreal.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance and scheduled servicing
- Diagnose and repair equipment breakdowns to support production
- Complete mechanical and hydraulic repairs as required
- Inspect and maintain critical systems to ensure safe and reliable operation
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and service documentation
- Follow site safety procedures, policies, and work instructions
- Coordinate with supervision and operations regarding equipment readiness and downtime
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years strong hands-on experience maintaining and troubleshooting heavy mobile and underground production equipment
- Experience on Sandvik LH514 / LH517 Loader
- Experience on Sandvik TH551 Truck
- Experience on Sandvik production drilling equipment
- Experience on Maclean UG development equipment
- Experience on Bolters
- Experience on Cassette truck (and similar UG development units)
- Minimum 3 years as a licensed tradesperson in the mining industry
- Apprentices may be considered (2nd, 3rd, and 4th-year) where experience aligns with the required equipment background
