About the Role

Books guest reservations, registers guests, and handles guest inquiries and requests to ensure a positive guest experience.

Responsibilities

  • Books guest reservations and coordinates with the reservation center.
  • Registers guests using up-selling techniques to maximize room rates.
  • Prepares for group check-ins, check-outs, and VIP arrivals.
  • Greets, registers, and assigns rooms to guests.
  • Handles confidential guest information with integrity.
  • Answers and routes calls, taking accurate messages.
  • Assists with sales and marketing efforts as directed.
  • Offers and handles requests for wake-up calls.
  • Records pertinent guest information in the pass-on log.
  • Replenishes continental breakfast and maintains cleanliness of the area.
  • Ensures common areas and the lobby are clean.
  • Performs laundry functions as directed.
  • Checks guests in and out, processing payments according to policy.
  • Answers the phone promptly, efficiently, and in a friendly manner.
  • Promotes hotel services, facilities, and outlets.
  • Becomes knowledgeable of upcoming events and local attractions.
  • Answers guest questions about the property and amenities.
  • Refers and directs guests to area attractions and outlets.
  • Arranges guest transportation to and from the hotel.
  • Uses creative reasoning to overcome guest objections and ensure satisfaction.
  • Resolves minor guest complaints and informs supervisors of major issues.
  • Responds quickly to guest requests or complaints and takes appropriate action.
  • Follows up to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Completes daily paperwork, including cashing out and documenting transactions.
  • Handles departmental accounting of monies, receipts, guest accounts, and credit.
  • Posts all charges and completes the cashiers report.
  • Prepares deposits and counts the cashier bank.
  • Balances the cash bag at the beginning and end of each shift.
  • Transmits and receives messages using various communication equipment.
  • Maintains a professional appearance and dress.
  • Follows company policies and procedures.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor or management.
