About the Role

The Line Services Technician is responsible for providing comprehensive services to aircraft and customers, including fueling, oil, hangar and tie-down storage, lavatory service, courtesy car transportation, luggage handling, and interior/exterior aircraft services. This role also involves commercial ramp operations, aircraft cleaning, and commissary duties as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Performs fueling and de-icing of all types of aircraft according to specific standards.
  • Directs aircraft and vehicular traffic on the ramp and within company facilities.
  • Properly secures all parked aircraft.
  • Cleans aircraft windshields, removes trash, performs lavatory service, and checks tire pressures.
  • Drives and services fuel trucks and ground support vehicles.
  • Services aircraft and ground support vehicles with fuel, oil, and other necessary supplies.
  • Operates and fills fuel trucks.
  • Cleans, services, operates, and performs minor maintenance on equipment.
  • Uses safety equipment and provides de-icing service to aircraft.
  • Performs grounds keeping and janitorial maintenance duties.
  • Drives snow plow and assists with snow removal.
  • Maintains cleanliness and maintenance of company vicinity areas.
  • Assists aircraft crews and passengers by courteously providing required services.
  • Performs daily and monthly fuel truck safety inspections.
  • Ensures vehicles are in safe operating order and running properly.
  • Maintains compliance with all FAA, Federal, State, Local, and Avflight safety policies and procedures.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent.
  • 2 years of related experience.
  • Must have a valid Driver's license with a good driving record within company standards.
  • Must have authorization to work in the U.S.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrate basic computer skills with the ability to grasp company software functionality.
  • Ability to write clearly and legibly.
  • Ability to push/pull/lift 70 lbs. for extended periods.
  • Ability to work efficiently under time constraints.
  • Must be available and willing to work varied hours including swing and graveyard shifts, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must be willing to work outside in all types of weather and elevated noise levels within the airport environment.
  • Be pleasant with others on the job and display a good-natured, cooperative attitude.
  • Be reliable, responsible, and dependable, and fulfill obligations.
  • Strong Attention to Detail and multi-tasking skills.
  • Maintain composure, keep emotions in check, control anger, and avoid aggressive behavior.

  • Strenuous lifting and pulling fuel hoses (75-80 lbs.).
  • Climbing and standing on step ladders while connecting fueling hoses overhead.
  • Bending and stooping to manipulate hoses and connect aircraft tow bars.
  • Must be able to carry 70 pound suitcase from the floor to 18 inches and carry 70 pound suitcase in front of you with both hands for a distance of up to 25 feet.
  • Must have physical dexterity sufficient to perform repetitive tasks and motions, including bending, squatting, kneeling, crawling, twisting and sustaining those positions for extended amounts of time.
  • Must have sufficient vision and ability to safely perform the essential functions of the position.
