About the Role
The Regional Director of Operations is a key leadership position responsible for overseeing a significant segment of the company's Energy operations. This role manages General Managers and Delivery Center Managers, ensuring exceptional customer experiences and driving profitability. The position also contributes to the company's strategic plan as a member of the corporate Leadership Council.
Responsibilities
- Mentor and develop direct reports through coaching and performance feedback.
- Collaborate with direct reports to execute the company mission, strategic objectives, performance targets, and profitability goals.
- Evaluate direct report performance using the Performance Scorecard and approve annual merit wage increases.
- Participate in achieving the company’s Strategic Plan as a member of the Leadership Council.
- Review and set retail pricing of energy products in collaboration with the VP of Operations to maximize gross margin.
- Monitor and gather competitive market data, informing the VP of Operations.
- Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, and Shared Services leaders on initiatives to enhance customer experience.
- Review and approve annual operating and capital budgets for Market locations.
- Review monthly financial statements with General Managers and resolve budget variances.
- Gain understanding of energy software management, accounting, and financial control systems.
- Acquire thorough knowledge of all company policies, procedures, programs, and relevant federal and state laws.
- Review, update, and formulate policies and procedures related to customer experience.
- Promote a culture of safety and corporate safety programs.
- Uphold the integrity of company policies and procedures.
- Assume leadership roles in trade associations and community non-profits.
- Participate in special projects as needed.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience leading people.
- Minimum of 7 years of previous experience managing a full-service energy operation is strongly preferred.
- Deals frequently with employees at all levels, community business contacts, and equipment suppliers.
- Key decision-maker in short and long-range planning, policy setting, and overall direction.
- Makes or assists in important decisions relating to customer relationships, staffing, employee relations, profitability, and other operational matters, often in consultation with the VP of Operations.
