About the Role

McGard is seeking a highly talented and motivated Maintenance Technician I to join our dynamic team and contribute to our ongoing success.

Responsibilities

• Repairs machinery, equipment, physical structures, and performs preventative maintenance procedures as directed.
• Ensures the achievement of continuous improvement within area of expertise and business areas to remain at the forefront of meeting Company objectives.
• Completes and maintains all required safety classes, trainings, and certifications.
• Is aware of the relevance and importance of their activities and how they contribute to the achievement of quality objectives.
• Works regularly scheduled shifts, with the ability to work overtime and weekends.
• Complies with related IATF/ISO procedures, as applicable.
• Meets qualitative and quantitative standards for the position and department.
• Assists the Maintenance department in assembling, installing, or repairing wiring, electrical and electronic components, pipe systems and plumbing, machinery, and equipment.
• Inspects, operates, and tests machinery and equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions.
• Repairs/replaces defective equipment parts using hand tools, power tools, and reassembles equipment.
• Diagnoses mechanical problems and determines how to correct them, checking blueprints, repair manuals, and parts catalogs.
• Performs preventative maintenance procedures as directed.
• Assists maintenance workers as directed.
• Resolves problems, delays, and difficulties, notifying supervisors if problems arise.
• Performs basic mechanical repairs and ensures work is completed according to assigned schedules.
• Understands and carries out routine written and oral instructions.
• Completes stock requisitions to maintain maintenance supply inventories.
• Completes all job assignments in an expedient manner, considering personal and coworker safety.
• Assists Maintenance Department members in the repair of manufacturing equipment.
• Assists in the removal of snow.
• Is trained and participates as a member of the Company’s Fire Brigade Team.

Requirements

• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both written and orally.
• One to three (1-3) years related experience and/or training in equipment maintenance in a manufacturing setting; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Possess high mechanical ability.
• Capable of traveling & working throughout the entire facility, within reasonable accommodation.

• $18.00 - $24.00/hour DOE plus 10% shift differential for 2nd Shift
