About the Role
Sun River Health is seeking a Full-Time Medical Assistant to support our Poughkeepsie Partnership location. This role involves assisting patients and the clinical team with medical care, performing various clinical and clerical duties, and ensuring compliance with organizational protocols.
Responsibilities
- Completes the rooming process and takes vital signs, vision, and/or hearing tests.
- Records patient data in eCW, including laboratory results, pain level, PEAS, PhQ, and Smoke status.
- Documents the reason for patient visits.
- Performs in-house labs and collects specimens for outside labs.
- Performs quality control in accordance with organizational protocols.
- Maintains stock levels in the clinical area and ensures it is in good order.
- Manages dated materials, discarding outdated supplies.
- Cleans and sterilizes all equipment, logging each service performed.
- Performs basic clerical work within the service area.
- Answers phones appropriately and communicates patient concerns to the nurse.
- Handles telephone inquiries.
- Ensures all appropriate logs are maintained.
Requirements
- High School diploma/ GED with Medical Assistant Training Certificate
- 0-1 year of related work experience
