About the Role
We are looking for an inquisitive and creative journalist to join our team of reporters based in New York, producing daily news stories on American institutional investors. This role offers the opportunity to develop relationships with senior investment decision-makers, conduct interviews, and analyze financial information to uncover relevant and newsworthy developments for MandateWire subscribers.
Responsibilities
- Research and write accurate and timely daily news stories focused on institutional investment activity.
- Build and maintain a strong network of senior institutional investment decision-makers.
- Conduct telephone interviews with key sources across the Americas.
- Analyze financial data, reports and other materials to identify relevant and newsworthy insights.
- Meet daily, monthly and quarterly editorial deadlines.
- Collaborate closely with colleagues across the wider MandateWire team.
Requirements
- Journalism experience, preferably within financial services, investments, pensions or a related area.
- Excellent interpersonal and interviewing skills, including a confident and professional telephone manner.
- Exceptional organisational skills, with the ability to effectively manage deadlines and workflows.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to sift through large datasets and identify relevant material.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills, with strong data interpretation skills and excellent attention to detail.
- A collaborative and adaptable approach to working as part of a team.
- Previous experience interviewing senior professionals is desirable.
- Fluency in Spanish and/or Portuguese is desirable.
