About the Role
The Milieu/ Floor Counselor is responsible for delivering and implementing long-term supervision, support, and clinical services to chemically dependent adults with co-occurring mental health problems. This role serves as a member of the interdisciplinary treatment team.
Responsibilities
- Perform initial and ongoing screening of residents and resident property per unit procedure.
- Facilitate group counseling sessions professionally, ethically, and caringly, documenting client progress.
- Supervise clients during self-medication.
- Communicate pertinent information, incidents, and emergencies through appropriate channels, including the SAC communication log, incident reports, and on-call supervisor.
- Provide crisis interventions and follow-up, documenting incidents, accidents, and elopements.
- Oversee and manage the client population in facilitating the daily house schedule.
- Provide transportation to required appointments using agency vehicles.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
