About the Role
O’Connell Electric Company, Inc., in partnership with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (I.B.E.W), is looking for a hard-working and well-qualified Electrician. This position is a union position and will be part of the I.B.E.W.
Responsibilities
- Perform a wide range of electrical tasks on commercial projects, ensuring that all work meets industry standards and is completed safely and efficiently.
Requirements
- Journeyman-level electrical experience or licensure is required.
- Extensive firsthand experience with high, medium, and low-voltage systems, ensuring the safe and reliable performance of electrical equipment across a variety of client sites.
- 12,000 hours of commercial electrical experience
- Experience with installing and terminating Conduit systems (EMT, RMC, PVC), Power distribution equipment, Motor control centers (MCCs), Switchgear and panelboards, Transformers and generators.
- Strong knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC)
- Ability to troubleshoot electrical systems and perform quality installations.
- Proficiency in interpreting electrical drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
- Physical ability to climb ladders, work in field conditions, stand for prolonged periods, and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Valid driver’s license is required.
- Ability to travel to project sites and work flexible schedules, including nights and weekends when required.
