About the Role
Direct Support Professionals work with individuals experiencing developmental disabilities, assisting them in their daily lives within their homes and communities. This role supports individuals to live fully in the community, recognizing their rights and unique needs, and fostering their growth and development.
Responsibilities
- Provides personalized support to adults who live independently in the community.
- Helps individuals develop the skills and support needed to live as independently as possible.
- Experience with Developing daily living skills
- Experience with Dual Diagnosis supports
- Experience with working with external professionals
- Experience with working with the homeless and those involved in the legal / justice system
- Experience with Behaviour Support Plans and providing Supported Independent living supports.
Requirements
- Satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Police Check
- Access to reliable transportation
- Full G Driver's license and use of vehicle required
- Full G-License Required
Skills
- Experience with Behaviour Support Plans
- CPI techniques
- Experience supporting people living within a Supported Independent Living model.
- Developing daily living skills
