About the Role

AECOM is seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to support their Federal (Military/DoD) team and various other markets throughout the Northwest region. This role involves pioneering innovative solutions for complex challenges, contributing to energy conservation and zero carbon initiatives, and focusing on renewable energy projects for high-performance buildings.

Responsibilities

Performing electrical engineering from conceptual design through construction administration and post-occupancy, including writing reports.
Completing routing engineering assignments and calculations for building electrical systems design across various project types.
Staying current on codes and technologies for building electrical systems, including power, lighting, telecommunications, and fire alarm systems.
Researching, developing, designing, specifying, and witnessing the testing of electrical systems, equipment, components, and materials.
Organizing and conducting site visits for data collection and evaluation of electrical systems.
Coordinating with clients and multiple disciplines, acting as the electrical engineer point of contact.
Assisting in proposal preparation and discipline plans.
Managing and working on multiple projects, acting as a mentor and reviewer of work.
Ensuring discipline plans meet overall project team requirements for scope and schedule.
Reviewing team members' work for quality and identifying training needs.
Attending and presenting to owners, clients, and architects as needed.

Requirements

BA/BS in Electrical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or similar with 6+ years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency.
Professional Engineer (PE) Registration.
10+ years of experience in designing building electrical systems.
Strong electrical code knowledge including National Electric Code (NEC), Washington State Energy Code (WSEC), Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC), ASHRAE, and International Energy Conservation Code (IECC).
Competence in all conventional aspects of electrical building engineering systems.
Federal project experience, including knowledge of agency standards, procurement processes, and compliance with regulations.
Additional experience in Corporate Workplace, Commercial buildings, Healthcare, Mission Critical, Justice, Sports, and Higher Education projects.
Experience with sustainable design and certification in LEED and/or WELL.
Ability to analyze equipment energy use for optimizing systems selection.
Ability to manage and work on multiple projects with other team members.
Renewable energy and Microgrid experience.
Power system studies experience utilizing SKM, ETAP, or Easy Power.
Lighting calculation experience with Visual, AGI32, or Elumtools.
Strong Revit and CAD experience.
Excellent communication skills: articulate, assertive, and confident.
Creative thinker with effective teamwork skills.
Project-related travel may be required.
