About the Role

Develop and maintain extensive desktop software using modern C++ with Qt. Contribute to strategic architectural decisions and drive the evolution of the platform. Take technical ownership of features, ensuring they are implemented cleanly, maintainably, and with thorough testing. Collaborate with other developers and departments to align technical requirements.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain extensive desktop software in modern C++ with Qt.
• Develop concepts for new features and make strategic architectural decisions.
• Implement and optimize software components and interfaces to relational databases (SQL).
• Ensure high quality, performance, and maintainability through code reviews, documentation, and automated testing.
• Identify areas for improvement in technology and user experience, prototyping and planning enhancements.
• Collaborate closely with internal teams and external project partners to define requirements.
• Productively and responsibly use modern AI-powered development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude Code).
• Routinely apply agile methodologies like Scrum and CI/CD practices.
• Foster technical exchange within the team through mentoring, technical reviews, and knowledge transfer.

Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, Technical Computer Science, or a comparable field, or an equivalent vocational training.
• Several years of relevant professional experience in a comparable position.
• Experience in taking end-to-end technical responsibility for features, including implementation, quality, testing, and stakeholder coordination.
• Proficient knowledge in object-oriented programming, software architecture concepts, and UML.
• Very good knowledge of C++ (ideally C++17/20 or newer) and relational databases/SQL.
• Good to very good Qt knowledge.
• Experience with connecting REST interfaces is advantageous.
• Familiarity with C# and cloud services (e.g., AWS) is a plus.
• A good eye for UI/UX and a feel for user-friendly, consistent interfaces.
• Very good German language skills (at least C1) and fluent English (C2) in speaking and writing.
• Independent, reliable work style, strong team spirit, and analytical thinking.
