About the Role
The Head of Supply Chain will source materials and secure parts rapidly for our initial machines, working with machine shops and evaluating various options. Your primary goal is to accelerate the supply chain to outpace the design cycle. In the near term, you will identify and qualify suppliers, negotiate lead times and pricing, and manage purchasing and delivery according to the build schedule. You will collaborate closely with engineers and be an integral part of the early team at American Turbines. By 2027, the role will evolve to oversee procurement for rate manufacturing, including supplier quality, incoming inspection, inventory, logistics, and building a supplier base to support thousands of units annually. You will also be responsible for hiring and leading the team that manages these operations.

Requirements
- Sourced precision hardware in aerospace, turbomachinery, EV, or adjacent industries
- Understand the operations of machine shops, foundries, and forge houses
- Ability to read drawings and communicate specific issues to suppliers regarding part delays
- Experience negotiating with suppliers to achieve difficult agreements
- Experience transitioning a product from prototype purchasing to rate production
- Understanding of the challenges that arise during production scaling
- Knowledge of when to utilize expedited, higher-cost options for long-term cost savings
