About the Role

Interstate Waste Services is hiring CDL B Commercial Roll Off Truck Drivers for year-round, steady work in Chester, NY. Safety is a top priority, and the role offers an early start time with a consistent schedule.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate front, side, or rear-loading trucks for waste or recyclable material pick-up.
• Transport materials to disposal, transfer, or recycling facilities, potentially making multiple trips per shift.
• Navigate congested communities and confined or tight city areas.
• Perform highly skilled backing maneuvers.
• Routinely climb in and out of the truck cab to service customer accounts.
• Perform driver pre and post-trip inspections.
• Ensure truck compliance with safety standards, OSHA, DOT regulations, and local traffic laws.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age and legally eligible to work in the United States.
• Must possess a valid Class A or B CDL.
• Must have an Airbrake Endorsement.
• Must have 1 year of CDL driving experience within the last 7 years.
• Must have a great safety record and clean MVR.
• Experience as a Driver or Helper for a Refuse Company is highly preferred.
• Must have working knowledge of DOT, OSHA, and applicable traffic regulations.
• Must be able to speak and read English to converse with the public, understand traffic signals, respond to official questions, and make legible entries on reports.
• Must be able to read and understand a map.
• Must meet physical and safety requirements of the position.
• Must be willing and able to work required hours, including potential weekends, nights, and holidays, as allowed under DOT regulations.
