Responsibilities
- Perform product inspection and/or audits of quality control programs.
- Conduct first article inspections and calibration.
- Inspect flat blank layouts and perform out-of-box audits (OBA).
- Sample and test incoming components and raw materials.
- Purge material and ensure raw materials, in-process, and finished products meet company standards.
- Update general documentation, including Quality Alerts.
- Audit processes, test, and inspect products.
- Develop, compile, and evaluate statistical data to define and maintain product quality and reliability.
- Perform complex engineering testing, checkout, First Article Inspection, root cause research, internal corrective actions, and supplier correction actions using engineering drawings, specifications, and diagrams.
- Interpret engineering drawings, schematic diagrams, or formulas and confer with management or engineering staff to define quality and reliability standards.
- Select processes for audit, checking for features like ESD, handling practices, documentation, training, and process integrity.
- Select products for audit at specified stages and test for qualities such as dimensions, performance, and mechanical, electrical, or cosmetic characteristics.
- Record audit data using statistical quality control procedures.
- Evaluate data and write reports to validate or indicate deviations from standards.
- Recommend modifications to quality or production standards, programs, or reports.
- Perform calibration on inspection tools such as micrometers, calipers, and height gauges.
- Maintain the gage track program, print lists of gages due for calibration, and follow up.
- Send gages out for calibration and maintain calibration records.
- Prepare graphs or charts of data or enter data into a computer for research.
- Download quality information from the quality system for QA reports.
- Research engineering test results and implement process changes to resolve problems.
- Perform out-of-box audits (OBA) as required.
- Provide factory support to identify and resolve issues with purchased parts, materials, and manufacturing.
- May perform receiving inspection.
- Review the Quality Auditors assistance and validate the Check List at the beginning of the shift.
- Perform scrap disposition at MRB in less than 24 hours.
- Assure customer implementation activities are in place.
- Meet SSYMA requirements (boats, goggles, gloves, ear plugs).
- Review SPC data and confirm actions are effective.
- Validate that tooling and gauges are working properly (microscope, magnifier, etc.).
Requirements
- Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent, technical training, or equivalent experience.
- Typically requires 1 year of related experience.
