About the Role

Hitachi Energy is seeking a Senior Leader to manage all aspects of operations for the Distribution Transformer manufacturing plant in South Boston, VA, encompassing production, quality, operational excellence, and logistics.

Responsibilities

  • Manage overall manufacturing operations, including staff and the SIOP process.
  • Implement continuous improvement methodologies and lean principles to enhance productivity and reduce costs.
  • Develop programs and metrics to optimize operational performance and working capital.
  • Recruit, retain, and develop high-performing teams while establishing a talent pipeline for future leaders.
  • Ensure a strong customer focus and uphold high ethical standards in all operations.
  • Provide a safe and healthy work environment, ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Collaborate with the ITM team to integrate lean manufacturing principles into production processes.
  • Address challenges such as backfilling key positions, providing training and mentoring, and resolving production hurdles due to machine issues, part shortages, or personnel shortages.
  • Promote and embody Hitachi Energy's core values of safety and integrity.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in manufacturing management.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, quality control, and safety standards.
  • Proven ability to lead and inspire teams, drive engagement, and achieve high performance.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English to interact effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage complex situations and resolve issues.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor and develop team members, implementing training and development programs that enhance skills and promote career growth.
