About the Role

Perform research experiments and assist in mouse colony management. This is an initial one-year assignment with potential for renewal based on performance, research progress, and funding.

Responsibilities

  • Perform experiments relating to electrophysiological and biochemical assays measuring ion channel function
  • Collaborate with other lab personnel on projects
  • Assist in mouse colony management and training of other lab personnel in lab techniques and mouse colony management as needed
  • Read scientific literature, write parts of manuscripts, attend seminars/lab meetings, and present research at internal and external conferences

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Neuroscience or related field
  • Experience with patch clamp electrophysiology and Ca2+ imaging
  • Experience with Molecular Biology and ion channel research
  • Experience working in a research lab
