About the Role

New Alternatives for Children, Inc. (NAC) is seeking a Part-Time Human Resources Specialist to support all functional areas of HR, including recruitment, compensation, benefits, training, and employee relations. The HR Department provides individualized services to employees to support the Agency's mission.

Responsibilities

  • Assists with recruitment of prospective employees by posting open jobs internally and externally.
  • Prepares employment offer letters.
  • Prepares NYS Notice and Acknowledgement of Pay Rate Forms.
  • Works with the Human Resources Generalist to support and maintain the Applicant Tracking System (ATS).
  • Processes employment verification requests.
  • Schedules pre-employment physicals and random drug screening tests.
  • Coordinates company-wide events, including new hire orientations, wellness programs, and retirement plan education sessions.
  • Supports HR staff in assigned project-based work.

Requirements

  • Prefer basic knowledge of human resources management gained through prior completion of applicable courses or work experience.

Skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Knowledge of and experience with a human resource information system.

Salary/Compensations

  • $24.73 - $27.47 per hour
