About the Role
We are seeking a Child Care Clinical Coordinator for the Therapeutic Childcare and Recreation programs at HELP Haven, a transitional housing shelter for victims of domestic violence. This role is ideal for a recent MSW graduate passionate about working with children in a therapeutic environment. You will conduct psychosocial assessments, provide mental health counseling, and offer crisis intervention to children and their families.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Child Care and Recreation Teams to develop and implement therapeutic models.
- Work with other departments at Haven to enhance communication and mental health service delivery for positive family outcomes.
- Act as a liaison to advocate for families and assist them in navigating the service delivery system to secure appropriate clinical, developmental, academic, and other services.
- Provide information and referral services to residents.
- Develop and facilitate therapeutic groups and workshops for residents to support emotional well-being.
- Attend weekly team meetings, individual supervision, group supervision, client case conferences, and other requested meetings.
Requirements
- Must be currently registered as an LMSW or LMHC, or have an MSW and become registered as an LMSW within 3 months.
- Possess a strong understanding of trauma-informed and trauma-responsive practice and the ability to apply this knowledge in a Child-Care and Recreation setting.
- Experience navigating systems impacting children, including Early Intervention, CPSE, and CSE.
- Physical ability to work with children in various settings.
- Experience facilitating support groups and workshops.
- Willingness to obtain SIFI certification for intern supervision.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a strong asset.
- Proficient in computer literacy, especially Microsoft Office applications.
