About the Role
The General Manager at Soho House is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the business, including operational efficiency, member and guest experience, staff retention, and profitability across various property functions such as hotel rooms, membership, wellness, F&B, and more. This role involves acting as a brand ambassador, embracing the company ethos, and providing influential leadership and strategic partnership to all departments to ensure exceptional service, culture, profit, and satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Assess business objectives and deliver an elevated, approachable, and profitable experience.
- Provide weekly/daily reports on the economic and operational state of the business.
- Develop action plans to improve operations, optimize profit, minimize margins, and enhance member, guest, and staff experiences.
- Adhere to company policies for site safety, food safety, allergy procedures, and legal compliance.
- Collaborate with Support Office business functions for guidance and operational support.
- Build and lead a team to drive sales and retention through F&B/Operations, Marketing, PR, Social, Events & Programming, Housekeeping, and Facilities.
- Oversee the creation, execution, and planning of major events.
- Guide, develop, and implement policies, procedures, and systems to improve business operations, service, retention, and overall experience.
- Provide leadership for annual marketing plans and partnerships.
- Oversee wage control and management.
- Maintain brand guidelines and reinforce Soho House values.
- Ensure compliance with all permits and regulations.
Requirements
- At least 7+ years managing high-volume Food and Beverage (F&B) or multi-unit operations.
- Understand, maintain, and enforce local and government-regulated food safety, risk prevention, fire prevention, Labor laws, and emergency procedures.
- Ability to supervise, train, and motivate all levels of employees.
- Interview new and prospective hires and adhere to P&D policies.
- Monitor, assess, report, and develop action items to support service trends and survey results.
- Demonstrated experience managing F&B operations focused on service and quality experiences.
- Strong business aptitude, driven by results and guest satisfaction.
- Naturally hospitable demeanor.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships.
- Highly organized, efficient, and detail-oriented.
- Must be able to seize, grasp, turn and hold objects with hands.
- Must be able to work on your feet for at least 8 hours.
- Must be able to move, pull, carry, or lift at least 40 pounds.
- Must be able to work in front of a computer screen for up to 5 hours per day.
- Occasionally kneel, bend, crouch and climb as required.
