About the Role
This position is an opportunity for an experienced nurse educator to teach in our baccalaureate nursing program, preparing students for transformative health careers. The role involves instructing upper-level courses and collaborating with the Program Director to ensure students meet program outcomes and professional competencies. The individual will also be involved in student advising, recruitment, and departmental activities.
Responsibilities
- Teach courses within the undergraduate nursing curriculum.
- Evaluate student performance in assigned courses, provide timely feedback, and identify learning deficiencies.
- Perform student advisement and academic counseling.
- Maintain current knowledge related to nursing education, practice, and clinical procedures.
- Serve as a professional role model for students.
- Collaborate with the Program Director and faculty colleagues to support curriculum planning, assessment, accreditation activities, and program improvement.
- Participate in student recruitment activities, application review, and program promotion.
- Provide service to the department, college, and profession.
- Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.
Requirements
- Master’s or doctoral degree in nursing.
- Hold a current, unencumbered New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.
- A minimum of 2 years of clinical practice experience.
- Prior classroom teaching experience at the collegiate level, or experience serving as a clinical preceptor for nursing students.
- Familiarity with Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) standards and assessment processes.
