About the Role

Sierra is building a platform to enable companies to create better customer experiences with AI. The Public Sector team is expanding to bring industry-leading technology to US public sector partners, aiming to redefine the relationship between the government and its citizens. This role involves owning how AI agents are developed and deployed for public sector customers, acting as a strategic advisor and product influencer.

Responsibilities

  • Own the Agent Development Life Cycle, from initial scope through conversation design, tooling, evaluation, launch, and continuous iteration.
  • Translate mission goals, policy requirements, and operational workflows into reliable agents.
  • Serve as a trusted strategic advisor to public sector leaders, defining success, prioritizing opportunities, and shaping AI strategy.
  • Partner with working teams on a day-to-day basis, resolving issues and making decisions to facilitate deployments.
  • Identify new use cases and develop roadmaps for expanding impact, including proactive outreach and multilingual access.
  • Directly shape the product and public sector strategy by surfacing unmet needs and influencing the company's roadmap.

Requirements

  • A track record of leading complex, high-visibility initiatives and driving cross-functional teams to measurable outcomes.
  • Comfort engaging directly with technical concepts, including API documentation, data models, and system architecture.
  • A passion for public sector work and a belief in the potential of institutions to improve outcomes.
  • Clear, direct, and persuasive communication across executive, operational, policy, and technical audiences.
  • Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills to break down complex problems and adapt to changing conditions.
