About the Role
Morgan Stanley Services Group, Inc. is seeking a Vice President, Lead Software Engineer to design, code, test, debug, document, and support software applications. The role involves developing business solutions by creating new software applications and modifying existing ones, utilizing innovative approaches to address complex technical challenges, and managing multiple concurrent software development projects.
Responsibilities
- Design, code, test, debug, document, and support software applications in accordance with established specifications and business requirements.
- Develop business solutions by creating new software applications and modifying existing ones.
- Utilize innovative approaches to address complex technical challenges, applying advanced technical principles, theories, and concepts to product development.
- Manage multiple concurrent software development projects.
- Apply Object-Oriented Analysis and Object-Oriented Design (OOAD) principles throughout the development process.
- Integrate solutions with dependent modules.
- Document solutions.
- Write code.
- Perform unit and integration testing.
- Participate in load testing and deployment.
- Troubleshoot production issues.
Requirements
- Requires a Bachelor’s in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Requires five (5) years of experience in the position offered or five (5) years as a Technology Portfolio Manager, Senior Manager, Senior Consultant or a related role.
- Requires five (5) years of experience with applying end-to-end software development life cycle (SDLC) within Agile/DevOps environments.
- Requires five (5) years of experience with utilizing core Java, J2EE, and Spring technologies.
- Requires five (5) years of experience with developing REST/SOAP web services.
- Requires five (5) years of experience with working with relational databases including Sybase.
- Requires five (5) years of experience with conducting test automation, writing unit and integration tests.
- Requires five (5) years of experience with implementing JIRA and CI/CD pipelines.
- Requires five (5) years of experience with applying Git, Bitbucket, and SVN, and utilizing an understanding of branching models, workflows, merge and conflict resolution.
- Requires five (5) years of experience with performing client-side debugging tools to troubleshoot issues across multiple browsers including Chrome and Edge.
- Requires five (5) years of experience with working in Unix/Linux environments, including shell scripting.
- Requires five (5) years of experience with developing batch jobs.
- Requires five (5) years of experience with utilizing understanding of application and system architecture.
