About the Role

The Senior Claims Representative is responsible for the investigation, evaluation, negotiation, and settlement of non-injury auto liability claims. This includes analyzing coverage, contacting customers, investigating loss details, arranging inspections, and coordinating with experts and third parties. The role requires understanding and complying with insurance regulations and working closely with other departments, vendors, and defense counsel. Claim values can range from nominal amounts to tens of thousands of dollars.

Responsibilities

  • Handle non-injury auto liability claims, including first and third party, repairable losses.
  • Provide superior claims outcomes and develop lasting connections with insureds and brokers.
  • Analyze claims forms, policies, endorsements, and client instructions to determine coverage.
  • Handle multiple lines of business with moderate complexity.
  • Investigate coverage issues and liability.
  • Confirm coverage and facts of loss through prompt and thorough investigation, including interviews.
  • Manage diary tasks to ensure timely and optimal financial outcomes for cases.
  • Create and review reserves in line with market and company policies.
  • Determine appropriate inspection methods and coordinate expertise resources.
  • Make liability determinations based on investigation and applicable law.
  • Ensure compliance with state regulations and requirements.
  • Focus on fact-gathering, investigation, and resolution of claims of moderate complexity.
  • Settle straightforward claims within authority limits and adhere to referral procedures.
  • Negotiate timely and effectively for cost-effective solutions within own limits.
  • Prepare reports for file documentation.
  • Report claims trends and developments to management and underwriters.
  • Process mail and prioritize workload.
  • Complete telephone calls and written correspondence.
  • Demonstrate a passion for strong claim management.

Salary/Compensations

  • Albany Pay Range: $24.75 - $28.65 per hour ($51,500 - $59,600 annualized)
