About the Role
This Associate position supports the operations management of City-owned properties within the Asset Management portfolio at NYCEDC, focusing on the Teleport Campus in Staten Island, NY, and other assigned properties.
Responsibilities
- Support the Campus Director in coordinating Teleport campus operations, including day-to-day activities, safety compliance, critical services, asset operability, and long-term plans.
- Manage on-site EDC field staff and contracted workers, including site visits, repair coordination, and staffing for critical systems.
- Assist in developing and maintaining periodic inspection schedules for field staff.
- Perform site inspections to verify contractor compliance, identify repairs, address deficiencies, and maintain records.
- Log, track, and maintain work orders completed by EDC field staff.
- Partner on annual property budget preparation and long-term capital investment planning.
- Monitor and report on campus expenditures, budget trends, maintenance activities, and operational performance.
- Support contract administration by monitoring contractor performance and coordinating with tenants/operators for service issue resolution.
- Provide administrative support, including purchase card reconciliation, system data entry, and invoicing support.
- Conduct tenant check-ins to maintain customer satisfaction and address expectations.
- Monitor tenant improvements for compliance with building codes, insurance, lease terms, and best practices.
- Coordinate tenant support during emergencies.
- Develop and execute communication strategies to inform stakeholders of operational issues.
- Respond to emergencies and provide 24/7 on-call support.
- Monitor and support the Teleport campus electrical system, coordinating response needs.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Facilities Management, Business or equivalent.
- At least 1 year of experience in building management, facilities maintenance or management, and/or transportation systems maintenance or management.
- Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven ability to work in a team environment and on individual projects with minimal oversight.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Access, and PowerPoint.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Availability for 24 hour on-call response.
- Ability to establish New York City residency within 180 days of starting.
