About the Role
ARCO/Murray National Construction is seeking an experienced Superintendent with 5-25+ years of experience to manage all administrative tasks associated with construction and field operations for their project. The goal is to empower the Superintendent to complete projects on schedule, within budget, and per specifications.
Responsibilities
- Attend post-award review meetings for project preplanning.
- Participate in preparing construction schedules, organization structure, staff selection, and manpower/equipment requirements.
- Direct and control construction projects to meet specifications, timelines, and profit goals.
- Assist project managers/engineers with material shipment, equipment procurement, and shop drawing/sample approvals.
- Coordinate subcontractors for effective work integration with project schedules.
- Inform supervisors and subcontractors of construction schedule changes.
- Assist in preparing job progress and cost reports.
- Review and approve requisitions, field purchase orders, invoices, and other reports.
- Cooperate with owners and representatives regarding construction progress.
- Cooperate with architects or owner representatives.
- Hold job site meetings with project and regional managers.
- Report regularly to the project manager on job progress, plans, and potential cost/schedule impacts.
- Maintain a daily diary of significant project facts, events, conditions, and agreements.
- Direct adherence to the company's safety program.
- Make decisions under tight deadlines.
- Organize people, tools, and equipment; plan and manage multiple activities.
- Demonstrate leadership skills, including facing challenges, directing others, and addressing conflict.
- Exhibit commitment to quality by evaluating and improving processes and meeting customer expectations.
- Act with integrity, supporting company values and employees while meeting customer requirements.
Requirements
- 5-25 years of construction experience, with at least 5 years as a project lead Superintendent.
- Proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, and project scheduling programs.
- Possess and maintain a current, valid driver license.
- Ability to meet physical demands including standing/walking for long periods, occasional uneven terrain, bending, kneeling, crouching, climbing stairs, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
