About the Role

This course examines the interactions among the cognitive, social, emotional, linguistic, and physical development of children from infancy into adolescence, paying close attention to children as makers of meaning in various developmental contexts. The goal is to make developmental theory vibrant and meaningful to enhance understanding of individual children.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver course content and materials aligned with the program curriculum.
• Grade and evaluate student performance in a timely manner, providing constructive feedback.
• Maintain open communication with students, including scheduled office hours or availability for consultation.
• Submit final grades and required course documentation by institutional deadlines.
• Collaborate with program faculty on course coordination and attend relevant program meetings, if necessary.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in development, education, or related field, required.
• Doctorate preferred.
• 5 or more years of experience in the field working directly with children from a range of cultural and linguistic backgrounds in educational or clinical contexts.
• Experience in public schools, preferred.
• Critical orientation to issues of access and equity, preferred.
• Strong skills in communication, collaboration, and organization, preferred.
• Experience teaching at the graduate level, preferred.
