About the Role

The Sanitation Attendant I is an entry-level position focused on learning the fundamentals of processing plant sanitation. This role is crucial for maintaining the food safety and quality of all eggs produced and sold.

Responsibilities

• Cleaning and sanitation of the egg grader, packing room, cooler, and dry storage warehouse.
• Sanitation of the egg washing area including conveyors, washers, blowers, and egg inspection units, along with walls, floors, and drains.
• Sanitation of the egg grader including egg baskets, brush area, and covers/doors.
• Sanitation of the packer area including rollers, egg holders, conveyors, framework, floors, and drains.
• Review daily sanitation report to implement corrective actions.
• Meet or exceed departmental standards without sacrificing quality or safety.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area to prevent accidents.
• Package eggs, ensuring correct carton/case/cart usage.
• Monitor products for valid dates (sell by, use by, and packaging dates).
• Comply with company policies, work rules, and federal and state laws.
• Learn the proper operation of basic warehouse equipment and machinery.
• Perform other job duties as required.

Requirements

• Familiarity with Kreher’s pre-established processing plant sanitation procedures and guidelines.
• Knowledge and experience in the use of basic hand tools.
• Ability to be a good team player.
• Good attention to detail.
• Good organization skills.
• Strong desire to learn and develop knowledge and skills.
• Flexibility with working schedule to meet operational needs.
• Must not currently own, hunt birds, or visit anyone that owns birds (pet bird, backyard flock, etc.).
