About the Role

As a Data Science Manager at Capital One, you will manage a team that is leading the next wave of disruption, utilizing the latest distributed computing technologies and operating across billions of customer transactions to unlock opportunities that help everyday people save money, time, and agony in their financial lives.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the development of software to clean and investigate large, messy data sets of numerical and textual data.
  • Network with various teams to explore internal and external data sources and APIs to help uncover new trends and improve analysis.
  • Design and contribute to highly scalable data pipelines, tools, and products to enable the analyst community to fully leverage the power of AWS.
  • Use industry-leading machine learning techniques to build and optimize credit models and underwriting infrastructure.
  • Analyze large swaths of data to optimize various business programs.
  • Manage and develop talent to drive a highly performant and engaged team.
  • Investigate the impact of new technologies on the future of digital banking and the financial world of tomorrow.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience developing statistical or quantitative models.
  • Experience with Machine Learning workflows.
  • 5+ years experience in model development.
  • At least 5 years of experience in open source programming languages for large scale data analysis (Python, Scala, or Java).
  • At least 5 years of experience with version control system like Git and GitHub.
  • At least 5 years of experience with relational databases and programming in SQL.
  • Experience working with AWS (EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, etc.).
  • Experience working with advanced Git Workflows (Pull Requests, Code Reviews, Issues, and Branching).
  • Experience with CICD tools.
