About the Role

At Soho House, a Barback plays an essential supporting role in the smooth and efficient operation of the bar, ensuring bartenders have everything they need to deliver fast, high-quality service. The role involves assisting bar staff, delivering drinks orders, and acting as a point of contact between the bar and the floor to ensure members receive a superior experience.

Responsibilities

• Bring drinks quickly from the bar to its respective location in the restaurants and deliver to members.
• Maintain a spotless, pristine work environment.
• Provides service to and is accountable for an assigned section.
• Develop relationships with members to provide personalized service.
• Polish glassware ensuring they are ready for service.
• Assist bartenders during service by restocking ingredients, running drinks, and retrieving supplies from storage or cellar.
• Perform opening and closing procedures including set up and break down of stations.
• Ensure all service equipment is handled carefully and stored correctly.
• Attend regular meetings with front and back of house teams to learn about menu changes and specials alongside daily tastings.

Requirements

• Must be hospitable, approachable, passionate about customer service and respectful towards colleagues and guests.
• Must be able to demonstrate competency as outlined in the training schedule and Club School.
• Must be able to work flexible shifts and schedules, including weekends and holidays as needed.
• Ability to take direction, work in a team environment and autonomously.

Skills

• Basic understanding of bar operations, hygiene standards, and stock rotation.

Experience Level

• 2 - 3 years’ experience in similar capacity
