About the Role

Provide care and support to employees as a per diem Occupational Health Nurse, utilizing nursing expertise in clinical assessment, employee health, workplace safety, education, and prevention. This role offers flexibility with up to 24 hours per week, making a meaningful impact on workforce health and well-being.

Responsibilities

  • Provide employee health services, including health screenings, review of health assessments, immunizations, and maintenance of confidential employee health records.
  • Assess occupational injuries, illnesses, and workplace exposures, providing appropriate care or referral in accordance with clinical guidelines and established protocols.
  • Support employees returning to work following injury or illness, including work restrictions, modified schedules, job limitations, and other accommodations.
  • Promote a safe and healthy workplace by identifying potential health and safety concerns and participating in the agency’s Safety and Infection Control Committees.
  • Support infection prevention and control efforts and provide employee education and training related to infection control and workplace health and safety.
  • Maintain required occupational health documentation, including the OSHA 300 Log.
  • Stay current with applicable regulations and professional standards related to employee health, OSHA, infection control, OPWDD, and the Department of Health.
  • Contribute to health and safety policies and procedures and assist with the agency’s Safety Data Sheet (SDS) system.

Requirements

  • Current New York State RN license and registration.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate a high level of professionalism.
  • Ability to establish positive working relationships with employees, supervisors, and others.
