About the Role

Amerit Fleet Solutions is hiring a skilled EV Technician/Automotive Mechanic to join our team in San Francisco, CA. This is an opportunity to build a career in the exciting and rapidly evolving world of Electric Autonomous Vehicles (EV/AV), maintaining and retrofitting the next generation of fleet vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Perform service, repair, and maintenance on electrical, mechanical, and integrated systems of electric autonomous vehicles.
• Diagnose nuanced mechanical, electrical, A/C, and autonomous vehicle systems.
• Conduct complex hardware (HW) retrofits and AV hardware replacements.
• Perform software and firmware updates.
• Collaborate with engineering and service teams to troubleshoot and diagnose complex issues.
• Create repair orders and accurately document work performed, including diagnosis, procedures, and parts used.
• Participate in fleet-wide hardware and software retrofits.
• Follow safety protocols and maintain a strong focus on quality and precision.
• Participate in continuing education and training to stay current with autonomous vehicle technology.

Requirements

• 5+ years of hands-on automotive and electric vehicle experience, including brakes, advanced suspension, alignment, electrical repair, and diagnosis.
• Strong ability to diagnose nuanced mechanical, electrical, A/C, and AV/EV systems.
• Experience with complex hardware retrofits and AV hardware replacement.
• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and automotive shop equipment (impact guns, lifts, jacks, etc.).
• Solid computer skills with a strong aptitude for learning new technology and software.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to give/receive clear feedback.
• A learning mindset and comfort working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Proven commitment to safety and high-quality work.
• Ability to perform physical work including frequent movement such as standing, walking, climbing, bending, and sitting for extended periods, as well as lifting heavy objects and accessing tight or confined spaces.
• Regular use of hands to grasp, reach, handle, and operate tools and equipment.
• Ability to work at heights using ladders or elevated platforms.
• Ability to safely perform duties in various weather conditions.
• Sufficient ability to see and hear to safely navigate the workspace.
• Must be eligible to pass standard pre-employment screenings, including drug screen and DOT physical (if required).
