About the Role

This role is responsible for the safe and efficient repairing and rebuilding of airport service vehicles, including support trucks, stationary carts, tankers, and hydrant trucks. You will inspect and identify defective parts, and make repairs to gas/diesel engines, hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems. The maintenance team ensures operational effectiveness by providing preventive care and timely repairs, all performed safely and according to established procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect and identify defective or broken parts on vehicles.
  • Make repairs to gas/diesel engines, hydraulic, electrical, fueling, and mechanical systems.
  • Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual quality control checks on refueling equipment.
  • Maintain records relating to maintenance.
  • Ensure operational effectiveness by providing proper preventative care to equipment and timely repairs to broken equipment.
  • Maintain a safe and secure work environment in accordance with health, safety, and security policies and procedures.
  • Assure a clean and safe working environment.
  • Hydrate electric equipment according to the Hydration Schedule.
  • Program and understand the functions of the Rapid Charger, including the Battery Monitor and Identification Device (BMID).
  • Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual quality control checks on equipment.
  • Perform an accident inspection on involved equipment.

Requirements

  • Must have 6 months to 2 years of Diesel Mechanic experience/background.
  • Must be 18 years of age.
  • Must possess a valid US driver’s license.
  • Must have authorization to work in the USA.
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screen.
  • Must be comfortable lifting/moving 70lbs.
  • Must be available and flexible to work variable shifts including weekends and holidays.
  • Must be comfortable working in all weather conditions.
  • All mechanics are required to perform all duties of the other positions, as needed due to operational need.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain all required Airport Badge.
  • Must have a High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED), or one to three months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain all required Airports and Custom badges/seals.
