Performs duties related to the operation of recreational facilities and parks maintenance under the direction of a supervisor.

Operates and maintains recreational facilities, including equipment, plant and playground structures.
Operates vehicles or equipment for maintaining parks, open spaces and roadsides.
Performs regular inspection and maintenance of equipment, including mounting attachments.
Inspects and maintains logs, and performs routine functions for refrigeration plant.
Inspects and maintains logs, and operates pool equipment for circulation, filtration and sanitizing pool water.
Inspects and maintains logs, and makes repairs to playground equipment to CSA standards.
Maintains cleanliness, neatness, and performs routine safety inspections of recreational facilities and park amenities.
Performs physical activities when not operating vehicles or equipment.
Assumes normal supervisory responsibilities over others.
Performs customer service and First Aid/CPR functions.
Prepares reports and signs material receipts.
Uses a variety of hand and power tools.
Performs assigned related duties that are transient, of an emergency nature, or minor but recurring.

Successful completion of Grade 12 in the Province of Ontario or equivalent.
Working knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
Shift work is a requirement during arena assignments, and may be required during other assignments.
Applicants may be required to complete a job-related test.
